These are very hard to resolve unfortunately. So before you both go on a wild gouse chase... Does the board have an older via chipset, say the KT400 or older? There are know issues with the timeouts on via chipsets. After Hans his work to minimize the timeouts it was fixed for most users. But the few that still had them could never get it sorted.
