Hi all, I'm a newbie when it comes to tv capturing and tv tuners. I am using linux (I have kernel 2.6.28 on intrepid ibex ubuntu 8.10) and am in america. The cable I wish to capture and display is unscrambled analog cable (channels 75 and under) without using a cable box.
I have seen some reports of success with the 1600 on linux and reports that it doesn't work. Can someone confirm? I have also seen from the hauppauge site that analog video is not currently support. I have heard it is supported and figure the site may be out of date. Can someone confirm this as well? Any other accounts on experiences with the 1600 would be appreciated as I have not yet bought this card. Also, I know that in windows there is scheduling software and display software. Do these exist in linux too for this hauppauge model? Please let me know. I am really interested in buying the card but have serious doubts. If this card is not for me, recommendations for other cards would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
