You might want to consider updating the drivers. I just installed the latest v4l drivers and they do work better. http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/How_to_Obtain%2C_Build_and_Install_V4L-DVB_Device_Drivers The picture quality is sill disappointing, but they seem more stable.
