Try

$ v4l2-ctl -c stream_type=1

or

Build the latest v4l2-ctl from the v4l-dvb repository at

        http://linuxtv.org/hg/v4l-dvb

(it's under v4l-apps somewhere IIRC) and try again.

or

$ gdb /(path)/v4l2-ctl core
(gdb) bt

to see where v4l2-ctl is failing. It would be helpful if you built the
v4l2-ctl app with ' -g -O1' or '-g -O0' to get debugging symbols.
