Most likely that "itchy" line is the closed captioning data in the VBI. I
see it on the bottom of some of my recordings but I just ignore it. I
believe there are settings in MythTV to adjust your window to hide that, but
I can't remember where (check under General or Appearance or any of the TV
settings menus).
