I have just moved from an anologue TV to a LCD. I used to use a P-III 700 in combination with a Geforce 2 MX-400 (PCI card) This card has s-video out. I have run the above combination with mythtv and the nouveau opensource drivers. It does the playback of SD quality video without framedrops as long as you don't enable the VGA output as well. Maybe it's an idea to get such a card somewhere?
