In case anyone else is experiencing the same issues...

I found a great snippet in the FAQ for ivtv. Basically, it seems the issue is
that the include directory installed on my system (I believe this is it the
default as I have not consciously changed it) is not the correct one. All
that I had to do is rename (mv) the incorrect include directory and add a
symlink to the correct one. Check
http://ivtv.writeme.ch/tiki-view_faq.php?faqId=1#q12.

I hope this helps!!

Hi.

I am trying to compile ivtv with what seems a parameter and/or configuration
issue, but I cannot determine where the problem is. I would greatly
appreciate it if someone would point out my mistake. Or where I should be
looking.

SYMPTOM:
When I ¨make¨ within the driver directory of ivtv I get the following error
messages.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
In file included from /home/zero/ivtv-0.3.2a/driver/msp3400.c:37:
include/linux/config.h:4:28: linux/autoconf.h: No such file or directory
In file included from include/linux/module.h:10,
                 from /home/zero/ivtv-0.3.2a/driver/msp3400.c:38:
...
------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is strange as both config.h and autoconf.h are located
in /usr/include/linux/ and yet make/gcc only finds the former and not the
latter. Of course, from that point on the whole compile job dies. I do have
the kernel sources installed and I have even compiled the kernel without any
issues.

OTHER INFO:
Using Mandrake 10.1 Official with kernel 2.6.8.1-12
Currently playing with ivtv 0.3.2a, but I see the same behavior with previous
versions (such as 0.2.0-rc3c).

Thanks for your help!!
