Don't get too worked up over this, it's not worth it.

Firstly, I suggest that you look at
http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html
It's hard to know how to ask questions and what people are looking
for, this should help.

Make sure you don't have the wrong tuner module loaded. Search under
/lib/modules/`uname -r`/ for tuner.ko. The ivtv version will be under
/lib/modules/`uname -r`/extra/, if you have any others delete (or
rename) them and rerun 'depmod -a'. Do the same for tveeprom.ko while
you're there.

Next, have you tried the cardtype option to ivtv? When you modprobe,
try modprobe ivtv cardtype=2. This forces the card to a 250 IIRC.
Check the modules.txt file in the doc/ directory under the driver
source, it should confirm it.

I recently bought a PVR 250 MCE card that is actually a 150. I've only
seen these in Australia, but it doesn't mean it's not happening!

Also, the capacitors on the cards hold charge for a long time, which
can cause weirdness. Try turning off the machine (even unplug it!) for
a minute or two, and then try again.

The best way to test the card is not to use Myth. Use cat /dev/video0
> test.mpg, and see if you can play the file with mplayer.
Use ptune or ptune-ui to tune channels. This will help isolate the
actual cause of the problem. See the wiki pages for the perl
requirements for ptune.

Cheers,

Ross
