Well, yes and no...I think validating the cache contents a little more is the Right Thing To Do, but it would actually be counterproductive for (some of) my purposes because I'm using the cache as a way for people to make sure they're always building against the same version, even if the cache is out of date. I guess what I'm doing is probably crazy, though.

Just a side note, it sounds like you might also be interested in the open issue about letting people invalidate the cache, or making the cache do some additional validation to invalidate old data. Theres an open issue and a thread about it somewhere (don't have the links handy right now). This would get around the manual cache invalidate which you do by manually deleting it, and let the cbs do it naturally as well.
