If you send it to the keyservers they'll mark your key as invalid. As does anybody who imports the revocation form. It doesn't work too well, but it is better than nothing. If you look at the keyservers you'll find two keys of mine where I lost access to the private keys and which I cannot revoke since revocation keys didn't exist back then. Stefan
