The author of the plugin explained how to use it: The key step I omitted was: Open 'Project' tab on the left side of IDEA Right click on ivy.xml Choose 'Import from ivy.xml' This finds the jars in your .ivy/cache folder which are in your ivy.xml file and adds them to IDEA's classpath
