Seminario Internacional en Londres que se celebrará el 29 de Octubre de 2009 en el Instituto Francés, en South Kensington con el título: DOOM OR BLOOM reinventing the library in the digital age Estaremos encantados de contar con vuestra asistencia. Por parte española intervendrá Manuela Palafox. Manuela Palafox, Licenciada en Geografía e Historia por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid es, desde 2006, Jefe del Servicio de Edición Digital y Web de la Biblioteca de la Universidad Complutense y coordinadora del Proyecto de Digitalización Biblioteca Complutense – Google. Entre otros cargos, ha desempeñado con anterioridad los de Subdirectora de Servicios de Información en el Servicio de Tecnologías de la Información y Sistemas Bibliotecarios de la BUC, Jefe de Sección en el Servicio de Tecnologías de la Información y Sistemas Bibliotecarios de la BUC, y el de directora del Proyecto de automatización de los fondos históricos de la Universidad de Santo Tomás en Manila (Filipinas) para Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional. Es miembro de varias asociaciones profesionales españolas y autora de numerosas publicaciones y conferencias.
