Dear all,

my name is João Brunet and I'm a PhD student visiting professor Gail Murphy
at University of British Columbia. Currently, I'm trying to understand the
architectural erosion phenomenon and how developers deal with it during
software evolution.

That said, I would really appreciate if I could contribute to Xerces
project and use it as a case study. To do so, I kindly ask for volunteers
to discuss Xerces architectural concerns and participate of the experiment
that I'm planning to conduct.

In a nutshell, the following activities will be performed:

1 - Discussion about architectural rules (me and
volunteers)
2 - Detecting architectural violations present in the code
(only me). I will provide automated tests that verifies code against
architectural rules. My idea is to contribute to Xerces source code.
3 - Discussion and interviews about the detected
architectural violations. (me and volunteers)

Don’t worry, the activities will not require much time and effort from you.

Thank you in advance.
Regards,
João.
