What's the error message when it fails? What is WORKSPACE set to? What are the actual directory contents? (Does the log file exist, is it well formed XML, does the stylesheet exist)? I'm not sure offhand whether Xalan accepts wildcards in input filenames. What happens if you give the full name of the file rather than using *?
