on All inclusive c2c/1099 basis, if you are comfortable with the bellows
stated requirement

 

Hey!   Thought I would send this out to you b/c we have interviews set up
for Aug 3 through the Aug 5th timeframe.  The manager does a phone first,
and then a face to face interview the week of Aug 3rd...he wants to see more
resumes and do phone screens this week----

 

Person has to be a Green Card or US Citizen or EAD.

 

Travel goes in cycles...will be 20-30% in the SouthEast or midwest. No
travel over the weekends.

 

Contract: 6 mo+

GENERAL INFO: 

     Our Client seeks a contract Microwave Engineer to perform various
duties and services which include project management, engineering, and
administrative functions in support of microwave site construction,
upgrades, enhancements, and operations.  The Client's microwave system
consists of approximately 7,393 radio route miles, 424 core stations, 14
secondary stations and 5 passive repeater stations.  The microwave system
provides communications between most operating locations and it is used
primarily for voice communications, VHF radio control circuits, data and
facsimile transmissions, traffic control operations and AEI data
transmissions.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Microwave Engineer will perform his duties and responsibilities in
support of various microwave projects which include the following:

. Upgrade and replacement of analog microwave radio equipment at various
locations within the Client's Network including:

. Potential microwave sites from the Client's Alabama located railroad
bridge to the Client's microwave backbone.

. Various new microwave sites in the Chicago, IL area.

. Upgrade of various microwave sites as per the UTCS (unified train control
system) Disaster Recovery network enhancements

. Additional new microwave sites as may be dictated by operational
requirements.

. Other assigned duties as developed from changing business needs and
requirements.

The Contract Microwave Engineer will report to the Client's Manager and the
Microwave Engineer and will be responsible for the following duties to be
performed both in the field and at the Client's offices in Atlanta, GA:

 

Project Management

. Provide complete construction management and coordination for new
microwave sites.

. Act as a liaison between various departments and all field/engineering
activities

. Develop and manage all phases of engineering deployment, implementation
and acceptance testing

. Prepare cut-over plans and procedures in collaboration with microwave
channel engineering group, transportation, and field resources

. Act as the single point-of-contact for assigned projects

. Supervise subcontractors and field forces to ensure effective project
execution

. Develop and maintain comprehensive schedule and technical documentation in
accordance with developing standards. 

. Assist with preparation of Request for Proposal (RFP) and performance of
vendor identification.

. Establish and implement the project schedule, cost and performance goals,
and provide (1) coordination of procurement and shipping of equipment; (2)
supervision of installation of tower and equipment; (3) supervision of
construction of site improvements; and (4) testing and commissioning.

 

Engineering

. Path engineering including map analysis and field survey for each new or
redesigned microwave path.

. Map analysis will include initial site selections, profiles of potential
paths and preliminary transmission calculations to establish the required
antenna system

. Field surveys to refine the map analysis and document site conditions.

. Feasibility Study - When an initial analysis suggests that microwave
transmission is the best technology for a certain link or system, perform a
feasibility study to better define the technical and cost issues. Such a
study includes map analyses, path profiling, field surveys, review of
equipment choices and prices, development of a system configuration (with
recommendations for alternatives), and assembly of budgetary costs.

. System Design - Perform detailed systems engineering for each link which
includes defining (1) tower height and antenna loading; (2) operating
frequencies; (3) channel capacity; (4) antenna types; (5) site access and
facilities (road, fence, shelter, power, etc.); (6) construction and layout
drawings; and (7) path surveys and FCC/FAA permits as described below. A
bill of materials (BOM) 

. Tower Analysis- Be familiar with TIA tower standards and procedures to
engage outside engineering firms for tower studies which determine the
structural viability of existing and planned towers to support larger or
additional antennas.

Administration

. Assist with applications for frequency coordination and assignments

. Assist with FCC and FAA Applications

. Monitor leases and lease payments to verify compliance with agreements

. Monitor leases for renewal and scheduled payment increases to ensure
compliance and to initiate timely lease renewal notifications and licensing
preparation

. Complete "as built" documentation & drawing administration
