Java Architect Permanent Position Alpharetta GA Responsible for the comprehensive technical quality of enterprise web application platforms, including several corporate internet and intranet sites for a Fortune 15 company. The platforms include technologies such as Portal, Content Management, Social Networking and collaboration, Business Intelligence, Integration technologies and others based on Java / J2EE, .NET and other Web technologies. A broad knowledge of Web technologies and programming languages is required, including strong Java skills and moderate understanding of .NET technologies. Some of the responsibilities for this role are: -Transform the mindset of team members to be more quality conscious by institutionalizing technical best practices and standards, conducting architecture, design and code reviews, unit testing practices and developer checklists -Improve the performance, stability and endurance of systems to keep systems operational 24 x 7 -Improve real-time-monitoring and early notification of failures and alerts (prior to end-user reporting them) -Drive technical quality and processes in a measurable way resulting in reduced number of defects and fewer customer calls -Determine metrics needs for initiated programs and deliver those metrics to stakeholders -Sign-off on technical quality of developed software before go-live Minimum Requirements -8+ years experience in architecture and development of enterprise solutions -5+ years of experience in enforcement of technical quality (security, maintainability, performance, scalability etc.) Additional Knowledge & Skills -Ability to work in a team environment as a technology leader, making technical decisions and influencing team in adoption -Excellent oral and written communication skills -Providing direction, mentoring and coaching to junior team members. -Ability to multi-task and work effectively across multiple deliverables and technologies -Ability to be flexible, think outside the box and adapt to any given situation -Deep experience in architecting / developing Java J2EE and .NET web based applications -Hands on exposure to relevant Web technologies including *HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, Web Services, XML, PHP, Web 2.0 technologies such as RSS, Wikis, Blogs, Social Networking *Web servers like IIS and Apache *Application Servers like Weblogic, Tomcat, JBoss, Websphere *Content Management and Portal Systems *Databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, *Integration technologies such as SQL Server Integration Services *Operating Systems such as Windows as well as Linux / UNIX -Proven ability, skills and desire, to get involved at hands-on level for problem solving and troubleshooting Production emergency situations, participate in on-call rotation as and when necessary. -Proven experience with software lifecycle management tools such as configuration and build management tools ( e.g. CVS, Ant, Maven), continuous integration tools (e.g. Hudson), automated unit testing tools (e.g. JUnit), performance testing tools (e.g. JMeter, YSlow), proactive monitoring technologies such as (e.g. JMX, JManage, Tivoli, OpenView), debugging and performance tuning tools such as (e.g. JProbe, JProfiler) Education 4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience PLEASE REPLY WITH RESUME Shweta Singh Sr Technical Recruiter Pyramid Consulting, Inc.
