Client team is compromised of 6 tracks managed by 5 PM's and a Program Manager. Tracks consist of Security, Shared Services, Monitoring, Network, Compute and Storage. I need to replace one of the senior PMs. The opportunity focus I have currently is in the Compute and Storage Tracks; (predominately HP Blade and Dell 'pizza box' and NetApp & EMC Storage and BU solutions.) so infrastructure Priority: a.. Project Management, Methodology, b.. Server / Storage / Data Center, other experience. c.. Really strong PM over a strong server / storage person with some PM experience. d.. Prefer some PM certification, PMI PMP or Six Sigma Black Belt *******In other words, I'd consider a really strong PM over a strong server / storage person with some PM experience. What are the 3 most important technical skills you are looking for? · IT Infrastructure Project Management experience, · Compute / Storage knowledge / familiarity (HP, Dell, NetApp, EMC), · Back Up strategy and · D.R. / B.U. experience / knowledge. a.. Managing the build out of the first of multiple data centers. Hosting platform standards are going through changes. Currently on HP chassis / blade with NetApp 6080 and 3170 storage arrays. Configuration / build of servers is a manual process. Cisco Nexus Switch and Routers, F5 Load Balancers, Crossbeam / Juniper Firewalls. New Hosting platform is Dell based, NetApp 3170 storage, mixed Cisco switches, F5, Juniper SRX and will include an auto provisioning features for servers / vms. a.. This position does NOT involve managing the configuration activities of the build team. There will be interfacing into this team as we provide the necessary compute / storage capacity for all projects within the program. This resource will be expected to manage and communicate capacity detail and make recommendations for securing new product. In addition, this resource will be working closely with our Applications Migrations Managers, collecting requirements and helping to translate these into specific resource allocation working with the Operations and Engineering teams. a..
