Job Summary: The person brought on board for the position Lane Controller Software Developer will primarily be responsible for working interdependently with a team of developers to develop and implement business applications supporting initiatives within the Motor Vehicle Systems and Services Division of 3M. This includes working with a team lead to utilize technical specifications to provide enhancements and new development to an existing suite of applications, while adhering to standards and guidelines within 3M MVSS. This role will be part of the Software Development Team. The position of Software Development Engineer will be located in Austin, Texas and may include up to 25% travel. First 2-3 weeks of the assignment require training in UK, therefore a valid passport is a must. Basic Qualifications: 5+ years of experience designing and coding solutions on *C/C++* Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) Preferred Skills: Excellent problem diagnosis and solution skills are required. *C (The system is mostly written in C Language), C++ and Shell script programming experience required.* Ruby script programming desirable. serial device *interface, digital i/o device and/or socket level programming* experience required. Real-time or Embedded programming experience preferred.
