*Java Developer (backend and middleware)* contract 6+ months Location: Moon/Pittsburgh, PA
Pay: Max $45/hr MAX *Must haves:* 1.At least 5 years software development using Java a. Must be a true “coder” that can take a design document and write code from scratch 2. At least 3 years of PL/SQL development experience 3. Experience with unit testing 4. Must be quality focused 5. Good communication skills Would-like-to-haves: 1.*J2EE experience* 2.UML experience 3.*Swing experience* 4.*Integration testing experience* Job Responsibilities • Assist in the development of Java/J2EE applications • Participate in technical design and code reviews • Development documentation for customer support • Perform Unit and Integration testing • Work closely on a team of Architects, Developers, Q/A, and Documentation/Training personnel • Support existing programs and modules Qualifications: 5+ years’ experience in Java programming on enterprise or department servers or systems • Minimum 2 years of experience in Object oriented software development • Experience in Full Life-cycle development and deployment • Working knowledge of Middleware technologies such as J2EE, Messaging, LDAP, Collaboration, and Integration servers • Understanding of UML • Knowledge of relational databases and Structured Query Language (SQL) required, Oracle experience preferred Additional Knowledge & Skills • Working knowledge of procedures, utilities, and good written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work on a team towards a common goal • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask • Excellent planning and organizing skills • Actively seeks learning opportunities and applies acquired knowledge to the job • Generates different and novel ways to deal with work problems/opportunities • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must • Exceptional customer service skills required • Ability to operate in a fast paced environment Education 4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience Certifications/Licensure Sun/Oracle Java Certification is a plus.
