erro java.util.date

Palm utilizando o ToolKit J2me da Sun, eu estou com o seguinte problema
eu tenho que selecionar uma data e retorna-la numa string, mas quando
utilizo o m�todo do componente DateField.getDate() ele me retorna erro
java.util.date
algu�m poderia ajudar
