FR: Salut Emmanuel, c'est le concept des "transports", qui sont des composants d'adaptation qui se connectent au serveur. De souvenir, les transports populaires sont compatibles avec ejabberd, jabberd14, et jabberd2, grace a un protocole de communication commun. Pour un serveur perso, j'utilise sans probleme PyICQ-t (http://pyicq-t.blathersource.org/) et PyMSN-t (http://delx.cjb.net/pymsnt/). Pour ICQ, tu pourrais aussi utiliser un transport AIM (tel que PyAIM-t, http://pyaim-t.blathersource.org/), puisque le protocole ICQ a fusionne avec celui d'AIM. Bien sur, le niveau de compatibilite de ces transports avec le protocole original est variable, comme avec tout effort de reverse-engineering. Par exemple, je ne peux pas recuperer les nickname via mon transport ICQ, et mon transport MSN ne gere toujours pas les messages offline (que MSN a enfin rajoute dans leur derniere version, bande de neanderthals!). La configuration de ces transports se fait independament du serveur: ce sont des softs independants qui se connectent en TCP au serveur pour fournir leurs services. Ils sont ensuite visible aux clients via le systeme "discover" de XMPP.

IIRC, the popular transports are compatible with ejabberd, jabberd14 and jabberd2 (at least) thanks to a common communication protocol. For a personal server, I'm happily using PyICQ-t (http://pyicq-t.blathersource.org/) and PyMSN-t (http://delx.cjb.net/pymsnt/). For ICQ you could also an AIM transport such as PyAIM-t, (http://pyaim-t.blathersource.org/), since the ICQ protocol merged with AIM. Of course, as with all reverse-engineering efforts, the level of compatibilty of these transports with their networks varies. For example, I cannot retrieve my ICQ contacts' nicknames, and I can't send offline messages to my MSN contacts (which MSN only added support for in their latest version, neanderthals!). Configurating these transports is independant from the server, as they are independant programs that connect to the server through TCP to provide thir services. They are then visible to clients through the XMPP discover mechanism.
