Well, after some time I could work more on this.
The result, a proof of concept, can be seen on github here:

Please read the README.mesh as there are several limitations for the
moment.
If this work is usable, interesting, whatever, I could work on it more
to remove these limitations.
I'm very sorry for the delay but better late than never ;-)
