Yes, I certainly misunderstood the topic of the e-mail. My bad.

Anyway, I decided to implement the issue I mentioned, and JabRef now  
supports both AND and OR for export formatters:

\begin{author||editor}
This text appears if there is an author OR editor field.
\end{author||editor}

\begin{month&&year}
This text appears if there is a month AND a year field.
\end{month&&year}

I also retained the previous ';' separator for AND. Is there any preferred  
syntax? I used || and && because that's what I'm used to in Matlab...
