Yes, it would be a good thing to have a bug report for this. I can't
immediately tell what is the problem - I don't know how the Unity
desktop environment decides which icon to use for each application,
perhaps it is caused by the JabRef process somehow being the parent
process of LyX - in that case perhaps we can fix it by starting the
external program in a way that makes it independent.

For the default icon, we should perhaps use a larger version to avoid
scaling-up. Are you using JabRef installed from the Ubuntu
repositories (if available), or have you downloaded the jar file from
SourceForge?
