Hi All,
I'm in the long process of migrating from Windows to (Puppy) Linux, and
with that, leaving MS Office and EndNote for TextMaker (Linux) + JabRef,
for writing research journal articles. TextMaker has an in-built in-text
referencing and bibliography tool based on the dbf dBaseIV format (e.g.,
http://textmaker.helpmax.net/en/working-with-large-documents/tables-of-references-toc-index-etc/bibliographies/step-1-the-bibliography-database/).
However, TextMaker doesn't currently have great support for importing
existing databases, meaning a tedious re-entry of literature data, field
by field. I'm writing to ask whether JabRef or its user base might be
able to suggest a workaround to this dilemma. I have only used JabRef
very briefly in the past, but knowing I'll be using it more in future,
with advent of the new Docear (http://www.docear.org/). I've run into a
wall with this, and any input on the matter would be appreciated,
Cheers,
arobbo
