Yep, Felix was right, I was thinking that you use LaTeX with bibtex for
your documents. In that case the preamble of LaTeX can be useful for make
many adjustments for fix issues like yours. Now I see you're using
openoffice, and then is different and not the way I know how to work and I'm
afraid I can not help you with your problem.
In fact I don't know how to work with JabRef using openoffice, but I doubt that
it is easier than with LaTeX. Good luck.
