Hi,

I'm using JabRef 2.10 with LibreOffice 3.5, generally without any problems. But
now I have several citations which need to be merged, like this:

(Adámoli
et al. 2008; Adámoli et al. 2004;
Paruelo et al. 2006; Paruelo et al. 2004; UMSEF 2007; UMSEF 2008)

I don't know to what extent I can influence the behavior of this function. The
way it is, I see three problems:

1) two items sharing the same author should be collapsed like this: "UMSEF
2007, 2008", "Adámoli et al. 2004, 2008" (note that the "et al." authors are
the same in both works; else I wouldn't mind).

2) I set MultiCiteChronological="false" in the .jstyle file, which is reflected
in the alphabetic order you see in the citation. But then the chronological
order becomes erratic: for the first two pairs of references it takes the newer
one first, while for the last one it takes the older one first. This is
independent of the order in which I inserted the citations in the first place.

3) only the first "et al." is put in italics. Before merging, each "et al."
appeared in italics, as it should. This only happens with two or more "et al."
citations, while an "et al." citation preceded by something else is italicized
correctly:

(Alonso
y Costa 2002; McAdam et al.
2007)

If anybody could help me with these problems, I would be grateful.

Lorenzo
