Dear users, we worked hard to get version 2.11 ready. Today, we released the beta 4 version, which is close to the release version. If no one sees any show stopper, we will release the final version on September, 23th.
This is the last version with plugin support and with Java 6 support. The main reason is that with reengineering JabRef, the plugins break in all cases. Then we can also drop support completely. In case there is active development on them, we are very open to integrate the functionality in JabRef to keep the plugins updated while JabRef evolves. We use https://github.com/JabRef/jabref/issues/152 to track the progress. Help is welcome! It might be that the OSX binaries are completely broken for 2.11. It seems that they are working for the next version 2.80 (see discussion at https://github.com/JabRef/jabref/issues/149). As we have limited resources, I would suggest our Mac OS X fans to wait for the 2.80 release. Any feedback welcome.
