No, there doesn't exist one for date. There is a Iso690FormatDate but it is not
clear (to me) exactly how it works (comments in Spanish).
Good idea though! Can you please add an issue at github.com/JabRef/jabref
asking for one?

Hi,
Does it exist a formatter for the field "date"?
I try \format[Date]{MM/yyyy}{\date} but it doesn't work. Do I have the wrong
syntax or it doesn't exist yet?
