I'm running JabRef-4.3.1 on Slackware-14.2/x86_64. When I click on a row to look at the entry I'm sent to a white page with a single line on the top with author, title, and publication rather than to the data entry form where I can look at all tabs.
Because there is no back arrow and alt-left does nothing I need to use the menu View -> Focus entry table ... twice. Also, when I entered a a first author's last name in the search box the resulting display was as above. When I tried restoring the entry table view it was not in alphabetical order and clicking on the Author tab just switched the disorder sequence. Not sure if all this is me not doing things the way I used to do them with earlier versions.
