Well, I wanted to use JabRef a while ago but to my surprise, the
version I installed from the repository of my gnu/linux distribution
(Linux Mint 19.1) disappeared. I guess I loaded the program the
weekend I debugged certain orphan packages.

So it was easy for me to go to JabRef's site and download version
4.3.1 and as usual, I moved the .jar file to /opt but when I wanted to
run it as I used to do (after a cd /opt/) with
sudo java -jar JabRef-4.3.1

it throws an error:

Error: the main class org.jabref.JabRefMain was not found or loaded
Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javafx/application/Application

I want to clarify that I've been reading the documentation here
https://docs.jabref.org/general/installation so I read about the
installation of Ubuntu and OpenJDK and did it as explained, even
retaining the version of the package installed to avoid future
problems.

However, it seems that the way I know how to call JabRef from the
terminal is outdated, and I couldn't find in the documentation any
explanation of how to do it now, worse, neither how to call JabRef
without it being from the terminal.

I would like to know what I am doing wrong and how to use JabRef 4.3.1
on my computer.

Regards
