ErrorResponse declares a trace property, but never uses it anywhere. So, when
an exception is thrown on the server, the stack trace is sent back over in the
response, but there's no way to get the trace out of the ErrorResponse that's
thrown as a result of the response, and it's not appended in formatMessage(),
which causes confusion to the user of the client because there's no real way to
tell what happened from the exception.
