The endorsed Xalan library used by Cocoon (and the Xalan trunk version
also) does not properly implement the addition of namespace attributes

It works now with Xalan patched. I filed a bug for Xalan:

The Xalan version used with the JDK is not affected by this
bug, but newer releases are. So, keep in mind when you are
"endorsing" such a Xalan version.
