AFAIK in JackRabbit there is already a Hibernate implementation at the backend.
PersistenceManager implementations has no relation with a mapping tool on top of jcr. It's something that belong only to jackrabbit internals. see org.apache.jackrabbit.core.state.PersistenceManager javadocs.
