Hi,I just comitted the simple extension framework. It contains quite extensive xdoc documentation, so running maven site should give you a good overview on its functionality.
The extension framework has only one dependency on the Jackrabbit implementation: The definition of the rep:extension node type if it is missing. Apart from that only standard JCR API is used.
