Thanks for all the ideas and discussion so far, keep the comments coming! It seems that the following four areas (in no particular order) should receive the most attention: * example web application * the TODO entries on the configuration page (especially related to security) * links to existing JCR articles, examples, applications, etc. * the First Hops document (perhaps add references to the example web app?) As Roy T. Fielding pointed out, the best way to get documentation improvements started is to contribute even a short outline or a set of questions you'd like answered. This is a great chance to make a noticeable contribution with little effort! :-) Once I'm done with the First Hops document I'll focus more on the example web application, but my time is limited so all help is appreciated. I also started a JcrLinks page on the Jackrabbit wiki (see http://wiki.apache.org/jackrabbit/JcrLinks). Please contribute to that page by adding links to interesting articles and applications that you've run into. I'll copy the best links to the official Jackrabbit web site before 1.0 is released. It would also be nice if someone who is familiar with JAAS and isn't afraid of reading source code would take a look at the AccessManager and LoginModule sources in Jackrabbit and come up with documentation patches to fix the configuration page TODOs.
