Quick question: there seems to be a significant set of systems stuck
on Jackson 2.6(.7) dependency (some due to AWS SDK, some due to
spark-core dependencies, I think). As time goes by, it would be great
to get downstream dependencies to update to later versions.

While I am not aware of specific reasons that prevent upgrades, I
assume there may well be some specific incompatibilities in behavior
-- or possibly lack of information on work-arounds or ways to
configure settings in later versions -- that make upgrade difficult.
Does anyone know of concrete examples of blockers? It would be good to
see if something could be done to help upgrade process, since that
will help maintenance work all around.
