JaCoCo execution data files are intended to be used by jacoco:report, not to be read directly by humans. You can get an overview of a file using a program like this example: https://github.com/jacoco/jacoco/blob/master/org.jacoco.examples/src/org/jacoco/examples/ExecDump.java
