I put a 10-pin dwarf connector on my 18-pin board. For test, I use an dwarf-lcd board with two additional leds. But I could create other io-boards (e.g. with keys, analog voltage etc) on the same dwarf-connector (and some day, I will ;)

Got them both working now on the same board with a jumper for i2c and 2 jumpers for the serial port... > So initially > I thought I needed as many board-files as I have boards. So > 'board' file is not really the right word.... We (Seb and I) discussed this a long time ago. You should have 3 files: one for the chip, one for the pin-use of the board and one for the test. But since the pin name/number combinations may differ for each chip, you need either an extra abstaction level or multiple pin-use files. This is why I decided to merge the first two into the board file. If you have a lot of chips on the same board, you can however create a 'board file' that only contains the chip defs and includes a shared pin-use file. Or use a script to generate them. > Is it useful to add the test-boards (layout or picture) and the board > files to Jallib? I doubt it, because to whom would these be useful? > Would anyone want to build my boards and repeat my tests? Probably not. But it would be usefull for newbies to have the diagram of a board, used by a sample we provide.
