I work with Orcad and layo1 pcb, very nice and quit powerfull, I use
it often at work where I create own designed pcb’s (also with pic
16f88 and 16f877).
>From both i have full versions and if you want I can make this week a
complete schematic for serial lcd for you to check and if needed
change.
if finessed I can make pdf’s or jpg files from the schematic as well
as from the pcb.
Furthermore we can even send it to www.eurocicuits.nl to make
professional pcb (the more you order the cheaper it will be per pcb.
(this is optional if you want to order for a lot of people at one
time) and with a nice jallib silkscreen this would be really
professional.
Anyway if you are interested please let me know.

what about 1 connector and a jumper for selecting between serial an
i2c
maybe possibility to connect standard hd44780 and dog-m auto both in 4
bit mode?

no problem, just add mosfet and resistor

Now you are making a pcb for jallib I think you have to think about
using a standard ICSP (ICD) connector like maybe, (1x5 sil) or RJ11
6/6 or if somebody has an other idea.
But before I get to enthusiastic, I noticed that only you, Joep are
reacting on my inputs so if I am to the others just a newbie, with no
usefull additions please let me know, I will stop bugging you.
I respect you all for the incredible effort you all are sticking into
jallib, and I be honest I have a small kid and a big garden so I will
never be able to spend your amount of time in jallib.
But this does not mean I can not help in some way.
I am maybe a newbie at Jal an PIC but I have made some nice robots
(hard and software) and other rather big microcontrolled projects on
my work (so i am not a newbie with microcontrollers).
So be honest with me and let me know if I can be of any assistance on
jallib or better stop (I respect both options)?
Richard
