There are also flexible IDE, powerful, crossplatform, that could be adapted.
I'm thinking about Eclipse (I can remember PICshell author Olivier Carnal
did something in that way), or Code::Blocks (http://www.codeblocks.org/).
This opens lots of possibilities, while being able to integrate jal specific
stuff (focus on jal "business" value). That said, it may costs more time to
go with these solutions than writing our own...
