This doesn't entirely belong here, but I don't think that it will do any harm :)
First of all... I've succeeded in making the 18F2553 communicate (and 'understand' :) ) data with a JAVA program running on the computer. Our Domotics software is able to receive (after a button press) a 2 byte command (command & source), interpret it, look it up in a database, code it back to binairy language and send it back to the microcontroller, which does a whole lot of testing (cases) to see what action should happen. These are supported: * Turn leds on and off * Turn everything off * Dim leds (2 preset values) The biggest problem in making this was actually the JAL syntax itself. I found the JALV2 manual here (http://www.casadeyork.com/jalv2/); but it was harder to find than it should be. But then it still didn't solve all of my problems... For example a case structure. Can your statement be multiple lines? I also found the JALV1 manual, and I must admit that I prefer that one. Mainly due to the examples included in every part. I'm making some sort of cheat-sheet for the things I find most important, but I was wondering if I haven't missed any locations that give this information already... PS: this is a very nice cheat sheet for arduino (http:// sites.google.com/site/mechatronicsguy/arduinocheatsheet/Arduino%20cheet %20sheet%20v02bsmall.png) one like that for JAL would be very nice!! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "jallib" group.
