Comment #1 on issue 167 by robhamerling: i2c hw slave on 16f1933 http://code.google.com/p/jallib/issues/detail?id=167
On one hand the omission of an alias SSPCON for SSPCON1 in the device files of the extended midrange. This can be repaired. On the other hand the MSSP modules of the extended midrange have more functionality than those of the midrange and consequently have more control registers and bits (e.g. the 16f1933 has SSPCON1, SSPCON2 SSPCON3 for one MSSP, while the 16F877a has only one SSPCON). Therefore SSP libraries which work fine with the midrange are not guaranteed to work with the extended midrange. The naming differences in MSSP registers are partly on purpose such that the libraries may fail when used with the 'wrong' target, see also devicefiles.html. To fix this once and for all will probably need revision of device files and libraries.
Note: It has to be checked if this issue applies to the 18F PICs as well. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "jallib" group.
