Log: Added Automatic Internal Oscillator Calibration for PICs with MOVLW instruction in high memory.
I hesitated if this should be an unconditional or an optional feature. I decided for the first, but I just wanted to check with you if that was the right choice.
This feature applies to relatively small PICs, which will probably always be used with internal oscillator (some don't even support an external oscillator). And I cannot think of an argument why anyone would not want the oscillator to run at the calibrated frequency. But even then ... the user program has full control over OSCCAL, can change it any time. It can now even read the calibrated value of OSCCAL before changing it and restore it afterwards.
It takes only 1 instruction for the very smallest to 3 instructions at the most for the largest of this group (with 4 data banks).
Any objections? Regards, Rob. -- R. Hamerling, Netherlands --- http://www.robh.nl -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "jallib" group.
