Rob, how would you go with 1 ? Extract something from product selection tools and then enrich ? I can do it if you like.
I'm ready to release new device files with ADC_MAX_RESOLUTION constant. I've used the product selection tool at the site of Microchip to determine which PICS have 12 bits ADC resolution (including the LF variants which are not mentioned in the list of Microchip!).
Although Microchip lists 2 PICs with 16 bits resolution their datasheets say 12. I expect other errors....
Only the 18fxxj13 and 18fxxj53 PICs (and their LF variants) seem to have selectable 10 or 12 bits ADC resolution. That means currently altogether 16 PICS have this feature. The devicefiles will show '12', but the default fuse settings make it actually 10-bits resolution.
BTW I discovered that some PICs have ADRES0{H|L} in stead of a ADRES{H|L} registers: 12lf1552, 16{l}f1512/13. I have added an alias without the '0' for these.
After another check I'll do a commit, probably tomorrow. Regards, Rob. -- R.
