Hi Jim, and welcome to the list!
The device files are generated by scripts using source files supplied with
microchips MPLAB distributions.
This process is not entirely automatic, and there's a current vacancy for the
job. In other words: Right now, noone will add the new device files. I have not
done it yet, but from what I know there's not much magic to it. The most
demanding part is to find out if the generated device files are correct.
If you're interested in taking the job, I'm sure Rob would be glad to help you
getting started.
Apart from that, the scripts are included in the jallib packages.

Betreff: [jallib] Adding PIC16f1777 to device list
Just wondering what is involved to add a new device to the device list. I would
like to add PIC16f1777 to the devices as I would like to use it with JAL. Just
wondering what is involved to do that and whether it is something I could do. I
want to use the PWM library with this device as well.
Thanks.
Jim
