To clarify, you simply changed the include statement from the 18F67J50 to 
the 18F46J50?

The tricky part with the 18F46J50 family is the Peripheral Pin Select 
feature and the fact that SPI1 and UART1 share some of the the same pins, 
so you're forced to use SPI2, or UART2 via a pin select change.  Not a huge 
issue, but it complicates things a bit compared to the 18F67J50, but the 
ability to use a 28-pin DIP chip for prototyping is a huge benefit.

By the looks of it, would it safe to assume that pretty much any 18F pic 
that has USB and and close to 4k of RAM will be fine?  (assuming there's a 
JAL description file...)  I know that the older 18F2550 etc. can't do 
complex things like USB Mass Storage, etc. due to limited RAM.
