I now solved this by shifting the dword value and then assigning it to a byte variable. That generates a warning "assignment to smaller type; truncation possible" but that's not a problem since i want to do that. But yet this is something that must definitely be solved. (solve it so it's possible using this or generate an error that it's not allowed to cross the byte boundary).
