On the other hand, to be fair, device files and the other library files 
(especially those commanding/emulating internal peripherals) will never be 
*completely 
and extensively *tested.
To do so, they should be tested with *every *silicon revision made 
available for *each *PIC model, which adds another order of magnitude of 
complexity to the process.

That means that, to a certain extent, Microchip has to be trusted....
