This is probably restating the obvious, but various developments in Jalview are 
raising the need for more user-friendly ways to manage visualisation settings.

I'm guessing there are parts of the current funding applications that touch on 
this topic.

There is an Epic issue to cover this in JIRA: 
https://issues.jalview.org/browse/JAL-1639.

Most of the issues in this are requests only, one or two have some 
implementation prototyped.

This would be the place to update or add any ideas.
